NaCSA Hosts World Bank Implementation Support Mission...

The management of the National Commission for Social Action (NaCSA) has on Monday 2nd December 2024 hosted the World Bank Implementation Support Mission for the Productive Social Safety Net and Youth Employment (PSSNYE). This visit is to kick off the Bank Implementation Support Mission (ISM) for the Productive Social Safety Net and Youth Employment (PSSNYE) Project.

The mission is led by the Senior Social Protection Specialist and Co-Task Team Leader - Abu Kargbo and the Senior Economist and Co-Task Team Leader - Samik Adhikari. The mission will focus on taking stock of the implementation progress of the PSSNYE project, starting the mid-term review and reviewing analytical activities supported under the digital payments and strengthening targeting for food security.

In his welcome address, the Commissioner of NaCSA – Ambassador Ernest Mbaimba Ndomahina reiterated the commitment of the Commission in actualizing the project development objectives. He noted that NaCSA, through its rebranding strategy has been repositioned to accelerate the aspirations of the Feed Salone Agenda. *‘’On behalf of His Excellency Dr. Julius Maada Bio, I welcome you to Sierra Leone and further thank you for your continuous technical and financial support.’’* He ended.

In a mesmerizing traditional courtesy, the Commissioner and his deputy presented a symbol of honour to the World Bank specialists. These symbols reflect the country's rich cultural heritage.

In his responses, the Senior Social Protection Specialist and Co-Task Team Leader - Abu Kargbo narrated the remarkable successes of the completed social safety net project which benefited One Million Five Hundred Sierra Leoneans across the country. He thanked the Commissioner, his deputy and the team at NaCSA for their commitment.
