NaCSA Commissions the Kathirre Community Health Post, Six New Classrooms, and Eight Boreholes in Kukuna...



On behalf of His Excellency Dr. Julius Maada Bio, the National Commission for Social Action (NaCSA) On Thursday, April 10, 2025, proudly commissioned the Kathire Community Health Post, six new classrooms, and eight boreholes in Kukuna.


These facilities provide the people of Kambia district with essential educational and health facilities. The school structure will be equipped with a modern library and essential furniture, as well as dedicated offices for staff. The project also includes the installation of water supply systems to support both students and staff, thereby enhancing the overall learning environment and efficient functioning of the heath post.


The ceremony was led by Ambassador Ernest Mbaimba Ndomahina, the Commissioner for NaCSA, who emphasized the importance of this initiative in improving the health outcomes of the local community. He highlighted that President Dr. Julius Maada Bio's commitment to providing access to quality healthcare services remains unmatched.


Joining him was the Honorable Minister of Health, Dr. Austin Derby, who underscored the government's commitment to strengthening healthcare and educational infrastructures. He noted that the commissioning marks a significant milestone in the President’s efforts to improve access to quality health and educational services. *"This new healthcare post is more than just a building; it is a beacon of hope and a testament to our dedication to the well-being of our community,"* he concluded.


Hon. Manso Dumbuya, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sierra Leone Ports Authority, described the ceremony as a clear demonstration that His Excellency Dr. Julius Maada Bio continues to provide essential services and infrastructure for his people. He further urged the community to utilize these services and collaborate to maintain the facilities.


In his statement, Dr. Kandeh Kolleh Yumkella, the Chairman of the Special Initiative for Climate Change, Renewable Energy, and Food Security, emphasized that these infrastructures represents the commitment of President Bio’s administration to address the interconnected challenges of climate change, renewable energy, and food security. He highlighted the integration of solar-powered systems and sustainable practices to ensure the health post operates efficiently.


The commissioning of the Kathire Community Health Post, six classroom building, and eight boreholes mark a pivotal milestone reflecting the government's agenda, championed by His Excellency Dr. Julius Maada Bio, to provide accessible, quality healthcare services for all citizens. These facilities are expected to serve as a crucial resource in addressing health and education challenges in the Kambia District, promoting wellness, and supporting the community's overall development.
