*Wednesday 7th August 2024, NaCSA House Freetown* – Recall that in February this year, the Office of the Chief Minister and the National Commission for Social Action (NaSCA) signed a symbolic contract with local contractors to implement the RACODI Project in all sixteen districts of Sierra Leone.
Having received funding from the Government of Sierra Leone, NaCSA and the office of the Chief Minister have engaged contractors on the implementation plan and the urgent need to deliver these projects.
The primary goal of the RACODI Project is to foster trust between the people and the government of Sierra Leone by implementing community development projects more quickly, under the direction of the Chief Minister's office and other MDAs.
In his statement, the Commissioner of the National Commission for Social Action (NaCSA), Ambassador Ernest Mbaimba Ndomahina expressed his deepest thanks and appreciation to His Excellency the President Dr.Julius Maada Bio for the confidence he has imposed in him to serve the people of Sierra Leone. He further admonished the contractors to follow all due processes to achieve the objective of the project because it’s critical to the actualization of the Feed Salone Agenda of His Excellency Dr. Julius Maada Bio. *‘’…funds must be judiciously utilized with zero tolerance for any act that may delay implementation*.*Our focus is to deliver for the people of this country and we cannot compromise it.’’* Amb. The Director of the Program at the office of the Chief Minister, Joseph Maada Lahai expressed thanks and appreciation to the Commissioner and his team of experts at NaCSA for their tremendous role in delivering on the promises of the President. He added that the RACODI Project is the Chief Minister’s baby project as well as the people of Sierra Leone. He called on the contractors to deliver by doing everything possible to satisfy the objective of the project.
In her contribution, the Senior Director of Program Development and Quality Assurance (SD- PDQA) – Dr Susan Robert reiterated NaCSA’s commitment to providing the needed technical and programmatic support to contractors. *‘’NaCSA’s commitment to collaborate with the office of the President and the Chief Minister to achieve the desires outlined in the government development framework remains unfiltered. We have to work as a team and as a country because Sierra Leone is the only place we call home.’’* She ended.
The Focal Person for the RACODI Project, Patrick Lebbie noted that funding is now available for the project to commence. He assured that the team at NaCSA has been repositioned to provide the support needed to implement the project within the specified duration and with higher quality and focus on value for money.
On behalf of the contractors, Madam Rosamond Mattia from Mayiegee Construction extended sincere thanks to the President – Dr Julius Maada Bio, the Chief Minister’s office and the NaCSA Commissioner of NaCSA for the opportunity to serve. She further assured of their commitment to achieving the project objectives.
