As part of the Community Driven Development Programme (CDDP), the National Commission for Social Action (NaCSA) officially handed over the site for the construction of a state-of-the-art community center in the Rogbangba community on Thursday, January 30, 2025. The ceremony was presided over by NaCSA Commissioner Ambassador Ernest Mbaimba Ndomahina, who emphasized the significance of this development for the local population.

The CDDP is a government-funded initiative designed to construct, reconstruct, and rehabilitate essential community facilities in rural areas of Sierra Leone. This comprehensive program addresses a range of needs, including the establishment of health facilities, markets, schools, and community centers, which are vital for enhancing the quality of life in these underserved regions.

In his welcome address, Alhaji Thanko Kamara, the Headman of the Rogbangba community, conveyed his heartfelt appreciation to the government for its unwavering support. He expressed confidence that the community will actively participate in the project to ensure its successful completion. *"We are eager to see the timely completion of this center,"* Kamara stated. *"One of the main hopes of the people of Rogbangba is to have a fully operational community center. We are thrilled that initial discussions have already begun, and we remain optimistic about the future."*

During the handing-over ceremony, Commissioner Ambassador Ernest Mbaimba Ndomahina acknowledged the visionary leadership of His Excellency President Dr Julius Maada Bio and the Sierra Leonean government for their commitment to funding this pivotal project. *"I am very pleased to be here, and like you, I eagerly anticipate the completion of the community center,"* he remarked. *"This dream is within reach because President Dr. Julius Maada Bio is a leader who listens to the needs of the people and remains steadfast in realizing the national objectives outlined in our key initiatives.”*

In a gesture of goodwill, Ambassador Ndomahina also donated ten thousand new Leones (10,000) to the women of the Rogbangba community, encouraging them to open a bank account and invest the money wisely. *"I urge you to make this money work for you and your families, ensuring that future generations benefit from this investment,"* he advised, reinforcing the idea of financial empowerment within the community. This donation symbolizes the government's commitment to uplifting the community and fostering economic growth through sustainable practices.

The Senior Director of Programs Ms Regina Saffa, the Programme Manager for CDDP Mr Patrick Lebbie, the project engineers, and other community stakeholders were in attendance.
