The Commissioner of NaCSA, Ambassador Ernest Mbaimba Ndomahina has embarked on *"Save the Future Generation Campaign,"* which is geared towards building the human capital of the future generation. The campaign further focuses on the eradication of drugs abuse amongst young people and profer an all inclusive strategy for young persons to reach their fullest potential.
The Commissioner started the campaign in his home Chiefdom of Kori, Taiama town.
In fulfillment of His Excellency the President Dr. Julius Maada Bio’s agenda on youths empowerment which is third aspiration outlined in the Big Five Game Changers.
Ambassador Ernest Mbaimba Ndomahina has taken a bold step to eradicate drug abuse in Taiama Kori Chiefdom Moyamba District and by extension Sierra Leone.
Ambassador Ndomahina believes discrimination is one of the exacerbating factors behind drug abuse, to bridge that gap, on Sunday the 15th July 2024 the humble Commissioner took over 40 kush victims to the Calvary United Methodist Church for Sunday service prayers, then proceeded with them to the holding center in the United Methodist Hospital for a period of one week.
During this community services, Chief Ndomahina involved community stakeholders like the Paramount chief, community leaders and the security personnel.
After the counseling sessions, Ambassadors Ndomahina provided the following items to the drug victims; seven mattress, cooking items and hygiene kits and medical expenses.
The victim were happy and thankful. Some of them expressed their willing to change and return to their normal ways of life, but they are scared of rejection from being integrated into their society. The commissioner however encouraged them to be ready for integration into the society , the commissioner encouraged community stakeholders to ensure these youths are welcomed into the community and return back to their productive lives.
This move by the commissioner is geared towards supporting Preside Bio’s Human Capital Development Initiative.
