Jimmy Batilo Songa – Deputy Commissioner
Jimmy Batilo Songa is a pro-poor proponent who was appointed on the 18th January 2021 by His Excellency Dr. Julius Maada Bio as the Deputy Commissioner National Commission for Social Action (NaCSA).
His duties include, deputising or acting in the absence of the Commissioner for the day-to-day operations of Commission which consist of and not limited to Planning, Implementation and Evaluation of all programmes and activities. Assist the Commissioner in providing administrative and secretariat leadership and work with all Senior Directors and Directors for the smooth running of the Commission. Monitor all activities in the field and take necessary actions to remedy problems emanating from field operations and report to the Commissioner.
Prior to his appointment, the Deputy Commissioner has 10 years of comprehensive experience and specialties in political leadership, diplomacy and humanitarian engagement.
During his ten years of service, Jimmy Batilo Songa has demonstrated solid commitment in harnessing the power of governments, multilateral agencies, the private sector and civil society to advance a people-centred development agenda through strong partnership that has helped alleviate the lives of people living in poor urban and rural communities in and out of Sierra Leone.
Jimmy Batilo Songa, the Deputy Commissioner of NaCSA holds an MSc in Government, Policy and Politics from Birkbeck University of London, United Kingdom. He is happily married with three children.
